7. Dualspec healing leveling

7 ) Resto leveling in 4.0.1 -

I do not recommend leveling as restoration as a soloing spec. You should do most of your leveling in groups if you plan to level resto (through the dungeon leveling system, PvP, or questing with friends). At level 30, you can buy a second talent spec (10 gold at a druid trainer for the dual spec feature), so I would recommend picking up a Balance spec as your second spec if you start out as restoration. A secondary DPS spec would be good for soloing. You can also start out as balance and then pick up a resto spec at level 40 as your secondary spec.

Early level healing abilities:

• Healing Touch – Long cast heal that heals for a large amount, with a high mana cost. Use primarily on tanks in your leveling instances.
• Rejuvenation – Lower mana cost instant-cast Heal over Time (HOT) spell. Use this pretty often when healing in instances.
• Regrowth – Short cast time direct flash heal with a short lasting Heal over time (HOT) Spell.

Talents:

Level 10: Choose the restoration talent tree from the talent summary page. This gives you swiftmend, which is a healing spell where you get an instant burst of healing when you use it on someone with a rejuv or regrowth HOT on them.

• Level 10 & 11 – Naturalist (Resto Tier 1) – Reduces the cast time of Healing Touch, one of your primary spells at low levels.
• 13, 15, 17 – Heart of the Wild (Tier 1) – increases your intellect by 6%, which gives you more mana and spell power.
• 19, 21, 23 – Improved Rejuvenation (tier 2) – Increases the healing done by rejuv & swiftmend
• 25 & 27 – Blessing of the Grove (tier 1) – increases healing done by rejuv & damage done by moonfire
• 29, 31 – Revitalize (tier 3) – This is an important regeneration talent for mana as you level.

• 33 – Nature’s Swiftness (Tier 3) – Gives you an instant heal every 3 minutes. You should use this with Healing Touch for a big instant heal.
• 35, 37, 39 – Living seed (tier 3) – Crit heals put a buff on the target to heal the person when they are next attacked.

• 41, 43, 45 – Nature’s Bounty (tier 4) – increases the crit chance of your regrowth (so that you’ll proc more living seeds)
• 47 – Natural Shape shifter (tier 1) – Put one point here to move up to a higher tier (we’ll finish this talent later).
• 49 – Wild Growth (tier 5) – an Area of Effect (AOE) healing spell that will put a HOT on multiple nearby targets.

(At level 50, you train your mastery where Heal over Time effects on the target will make your heals on that target heal for more).

• 51 – Nature’s Cure (tier 5) – Gives you the ability to remove magic from the target.
• 53, 55, 57 – Efflorescence  (tier 5) – gives your swiftmend spell an AOE HOT healing bonus. People have to stand on the healing spot on the ground to receive the bonus.
• 59, 61, 63 – Gift of the Earthmother (tier 6) – Gives your rejuvenation spell an instant heal.
• 65 – Swift Rejuvenation (tier 6) – Shortens the global cooldown of rejuvenation so that you can cast your next spell sooner.
• 67 – Put another point in Naural Shape Shifter (tier 1) – preparing for getting Tree of Life.
• 69 – Tree of Life (tier 7) – Tree form increases your healing spells by 15% for 30 seconds, every 3 minutes and has a couple other neat effects.
• 71 – Master shape shifter (Tier 2) – Increases your healing by 4%
• 73, 75, 77 – Furor (Feral tier 1) – increases your maximum mana by 15%

Level 80: Before you can level up to 85, you would respec at 80 for one of the level 80 healing specs. After Cataclysm comes out, keep following below:

• 79 & 81 – Empowered Touch (Tier 4) – Nourish refreshes lifebloom
• 82 & 83 – Nature’s Majesty (Balance Tier 1) –  Increases your critical strike chance with spells
• 84 & 85 – Malfurion’s Gift (tier 4) – lifebloom has a chance to proc more Omen of Clarity
